African Learners has produced a series of educational supplies which honor significant heroes and heroines in the SacredStruggle(TM). This series provides Composition, Graph, Penmanship, Quotation, and Sketchbooks designed with covers that honor historical figures who have made a significant contribution to humanity. Marcus Garvey was born on August 17, 1887 in Jamaica. While in Jamaica he founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA). He later moved to America where he grew the UNIA to be the largest Black empowerment movement of the twentieth century. After his death on June 10, 1940, he was named Jamaica's first national hero.
