Taking place four months after the end of the first book, John and his ragtag group encounter a man named President General Rodney Irons. After their unexpected time out of the fray, they learn over time that the world has changed, yet again, and not for the better. With a whole new evil hot on their tails, they discover an ally in the unlikeliest of places. John, meeting up with new members of Seraph, discovers he is the key to stopping this new madman called Irons.

Traveling across the country to try and help create the ultimate weapon, the party finds that the infection that decimated the world in the last book has mutated into something a lot more sinister. With help from the Church of Salvation, find out how John and the rest plan to stop this new evil from taking over the world as Irons plans to execute his master plans of all out WAR.
