This booklet is a companion piece to Cecelia Otto's 2020 American Songline program "Centennial of Suffrage." The booklet tells the story of women's fight for the vote through the songs that reflected the struggle as it was being waged, opening an entertaining and illuminating window on a critical moment in American history. Lyrics for 14 suffrage anthems are reproduced alongside Otto's commentary on each song, as well as period-appropriate illustrations and an all-new introduction.
