The Gifted Storyteller begins with Michael at a turning point in his life. He knows people see him as successful, but he doesn't feel that way. Things are okay, but he feels stuck and confused at times, wondering what else is possible.

One night Michael is enjoying an evening out and gets lost in thought. In the middle of his thought, he catches a woman smiling at him. She introduces herself as Jeannie and tells him he is Storytelling. Over the course of a few weeks using some simple questions, Jeannie teaches Michael how to use his mind to see, hear and feel the world differently, which changes his life forever.
