Have you ever wondered if Jesus had a best friend? Oh yes, He had the disciples, but He could not choose ONE of them for a best friend-what would the others think? Jesus had all of the angels of heaven, but they could not leave heaven and walk and talk with Him. He had His father God, who spoke to Him directing His early mission. But, did He have a true best friend? Remember when you were little and you had a best friend to talk to every day? To walk to school with? To eat lunch with? To share a treat or a secret? Sure, we all did-many best friends over the years. But, what about Jesus? This is the story of a little black dog who was lost and all alone who needed someone to help him, to claim him, to find food and water and a safe place to sleep for him. This is also the story of Jesus who found that when he befriended a little lost dog that He found a best friend who would go with Him for His earthly ministry. The little dog learned a lot about Jesus and loved Jesus with all of his little heart. From helping to find disciples to assist in His ministry, to the miracles, the parables, and finally to the cross, the little black dog saw and heard it all. In this book, "Blessing" the little black dog tells us about the great adventure he had being the best friend of Jesus. The story is told for children and adults using scripture and imagination to define the need for friendship and the Kingdom of God.
