About the Author
Vijay Tendulkar is one of India's most influential dramatists. Author of thirty full-length plays, twenty-three one-act plays, several of which have become classics of modern Indian theater. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, the Vishnudas Bhave Memorial Award, and the Katha Chudamini Award. Balwant Bhaneja holds a Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. His translation and adaptation of plays from India have been produced by BBC World Service, including a translation of Safar/Cyclewallah (The Cyclist).
