Amy Johnson holds a B.A. in Physics Teaching from Brigham Young University and an M.A. in Physics Education from Smith College. She currently serves as the Director of Science Services for Massachusetts' Mass Math + Science Initiative (MMSI). She has been teaching Physics for more than 10 years at both the high school and college levels.

As a teacher for Northampton (Mass.) High School, Ms. Johnson worked to expand the AP(R) Physics program to include both AP(R) Physics B and C. Apart from broadening the program, she also helped students achieve success in their physics education and preparation for college.

Ms. Johnson has also taught Physics for Middle School Science Teachers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is the recipient of the Harold Grinspoon New Teacher of the Year Award, as well as the National Math and Science Initiative Science Teacher of the Year Award.
